That came up from nowhere but I’ve just got an idea few days ago, and here’s the first release : a count down timer integrated within Unity3D so you can see at each instant your dead line and your time running out (a little bit stressy maybe ?). It’s downloadable right here from this blog, and I surely put it freely on the asset store if they allow me to (I don’t know if a “tool” so futile and small as this one is authorized there though..).
As it’s obvious you can open this new window by opening the “window” menu and select “Count Down”, this will bring this magnificient black by default window with a default target date set 2 days in the future. You understood very well why 2 days : it’s for Ludum Dare 48 game jams ! For now the target date is the same for every project, it’s a global dead line but I will set it for the current project in a next release, it will be more convenient.
Chrono
A second feature of this window is the ability to start, pause and restart a chronometer, showing hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds in the exact same window. It replaces the count down so you can’t watch both at the same time, but as soon as you click the stop button, you go back to the count down.
Tiny or Huge ?
As every one has a different screen and maybe you use Unity in different computers, the window adapts its content to fits its current size : no need to set a font size or whatever, it fits, that’s all.

I don’t like green aliens and dark color
Just click on the settings button (the last one, on the right !!) to set the target date, time and even the background color and text color.

Happy now ?
Ok you can download it right here : Chrono Count Down (44).
Update : erh.. Even crappy, the day, month and year calculation were wrong.. it’s fixed now !
